seARTS earliest programs (2003-2006) included:
Artist on Artist: Intimate talks where artists would come together to talk about their work with other artists in the community. An example included here was a talk by Helen Epstein, noted author, who spoke about what it means to write a Memoir. Others included talks by local photographers, painters, and sculptors.
Arts-Biz: this program was a small partnership between 10+ businesses and local artists where artists were given $250 grants for simple installations at local businesses – art on the walls, music performances, etc. It was funded by City of Gloucester- Community Development Block Grant (for income challenged artists)
Community-Visitor Education Programs: These included salons, films, & speakers.
Gloucester New Arts Festival : a multi-year performance art collaboration run by choreographer, teacher, Sarah Slifer.
Artist in Residency Program: Conceived by artist members of Rocky Neck – originally a seARTS partnership.
Northeast Sea Glass Festival: In 2005 a group of sea glass artists and authors got together to put on a show at the Rockport Community Center/Senior Center. 500 people enjoyed the first ever Sea Glass Festival which went on to national fame with 5000+ people attending each year around the country.
