Judith Monteferrante is a fine art photographer living on Cape Ann. As a retired cardiologist, her skills at imaging the heart were transferred to the study of nature’s intimate places. Her main focus is on fine art photography of flowers, often interacting with water, seascapes and still life. She believes that the years of witnessing and helping those who are ill and dying have sharpened her sensitivity, broadened her vision and allowed her to see the beauty in the world with meticulous precision and her personal stamp.

While working as a cardiologist full time, she took weekend courses, seminars and workshops in all aspects of photography and then completed a Master’s degree in Photographic Studies with honors (MPS) at the School of Visual Arts, in NYC in 2009.

She was awarded Copley Artist status with the Copley Society of Art in Boston, is a Moab Master photographer (by Legion Paper), serves as an artistic advisor to seARTS and is a former Artistic Director of the Rocky Neck Art Colony. Judith has gallery representation in Massachusetts, New York and Arizona.

Judith recently had two solo shows at the Rockport Art Association and Marblehead Art Association in MA. She has been accepted into ten juried shows in 2014-15 and has won numerous awards, most recently First Place in the juried seARTS: Art@Bass Rocks yearlong exhibition in Gloucester, MA. She was published as a Silver Award winner in “Color” magazine in 2011 and won the Haystack Residency Scholarship Deer Isle, ME from the Copley Society of Art in 2010. Judith’s work is in many private and corporate collections.

I feel so lucky to be born and raised on the beautiful coastal community of Gloucester and I’m spoiled by living next door to some of the most photographed surroundings anywhere. Every time I go “ova the bridge” to seek out bigger and better scenes to photograph, I always find that there’s very little that compares to our breathtaking, ever-changing backyard. I have raised three grown daughters on this island and now I am enjoying my recent empty-nest status with my husband Neil as we live life one adventure at a time. I have been taking “pictures” all my life but in the past few years I have been able to slow down and use my creativity to capture “Photographs”. As a Photo-hobbyist, landscapes are my favorite subjects and I’m a sucker for a stunning cloud filled sunset! I enjoy the process of capturing an image and find that the most rewarding part of photography is the discovery and knowledge behind each subject that I photograph, as well as the many people I meet along the way.

Tin Can Sally sculpts with printed tin and wire, transforming recycled printed tin cans into whimsical birds, fish, jewelry, mobiles, tin clothing, clocks, collages and more. She often work in multiples, creating flocks of birds and schools of fish, etc.

Examples of the tin containers she uses are soy sauce, coffee, tea, espresso, cookie, spice, tuna, sardine, anchovy, tobacco, biscuit, mustard, curry, ethnic food, popcorn and sewing tins. She cuts the tins into many shapes and then assembles them, juxtaposing exuberant colors and forms.

While creating art, she has been the Slide and Digital Image Librarian at Montserrat College of Art since anyone can remember.

Sally studied at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Hartford Art School at the University of Hartford, Montserrat College of Art, the DeCordova Museum and Sculpture Park, and Metalwerx.

Her work has been exhibited in New England and is included in public buildings, schools, private collections and galleries.

Tin Can Sally is the pseudonym for Sally Seamans. Her work can be seen at Local Colors Artists’ Cooperative, 121 Main St., Gloucester, MA.

Ron began painting with his artist mother in grammar school. In Prep school he developed another interest, science. Ultimately he became an academic retina surgeon at Mass Eye & Ear Infirmary and Harvard Medical School. Art has now become his present passion. He paints with acrylics and “specializes in diversity”.
Subjects, techniques, styles, colors and textures are variable and exciting. He paints for joy!

My main work is fashion design. I have a passion for doing hands on work and sewing fulfills that. Every project I do, weather it’s designing and making an evening gown, laying out a patch work quilt or heming a pair of pants amazes me. Taking a 2 demtional object like fabric and cutting it and poking it with thread to making it 3 demtional, visual appealing and wearbale is facinating!

Inspiration: When I design I start oout with an image in my head of silhouette, consturction and extra features if apprpriate in my design. From there it jumps into a technical flat or pattern pieces. I enjoy working with colors and prints. My come from my travels, architecture, mucis culture and Mother Nature.

Sarah Adams is an effervescent person who creates feisty designs. By combining modern needs and elegance in her designs. she allow’s her clients wardrobe to be funtional but rare
