I paint and draw nature, landscape and animal themes using acrylics, pencil, charcoal, pastel and ink. After initial studies of Art History and Historic Preservation, and nearly ten years living and working in Japan, I went back to study studio art at Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts School in 2008. Now my interest and studies in American history, landscape architecture, art history, Japan and Buddhism serve as themes and subject matter in my art. I am also interested in the complex relationship between humans and history, with nature and our environment.

I am drawn to the natural world as a source of joy, inspiration and consolation, which I believe speaks beyond language and culture, universally to all of the earth’s living beings. I find constant inspiration as well as in the local culture and natural surroundings of my home north of Boston, where I live with my daughter and husband.
