About Mary F Hayes

I have been interested in art my whole life. I have studied with a number of Cape Ann artists and taken classes at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts and Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. My hometown of Rockport provides inspiration for many of my paintings, as does cruising the New England coast. In the winter, the ever-changing light on the mountains attracts me to the California desert. ​I love color and design and the challenge of capturing a mood, the interplay of light and color on the water, or the simple beauty of my surroundings.
